Flashlight without batteries

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

flashlight.jpgRemember the mechanical powered flashlight? The one you had to squeeze to give light? it always made an sound that sounded like a cat that is lonely…. there is a new version, this time you don’t have to squeeze, but you can shake it up and down to get some light-knijpkat.JPG out of a led. The old version is a little bit robust compared with the new one… and makes a lot less sound. While the new invention can last up to 6 minutes with a 30sec shaking, the mechanical light is functioning as long as you’re squeezing. Alway handy for earthquake or other disaster gear. no worries about batteries of accu’s, always able to light the place up after a disaster ;)

Radio controlled golf ball

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

radio-golf.jpgAlways wanted to win from your boss with golf? even if he has more executive time to practice?

well, here is a solution, a radio controlled golf ball with a gyro inside that’s influencing the direction the ball is rolling :)

With this you can fool your boss while putting, or get a over cocky friend to shut up for once.

The only you tube I found is this one, but it’ll start you thinking in possibilities.

Video glasses with Divx support

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

yellowmosquito.jpgAustralian 22Moo international is introducing Video glasses which support Divx, the name for this gadget is Yellowmosquito (qingbar Gp-300) and it reads mini SD cards.

The glasses support 2 mini LOCS screens with a resolution of 432×420 which if we can believe the manufacturer is the same as an 50″ screen at a distance of 2 meters. Sound is supported through mini earphones connected to the glasses. Movies, music and photo’s can be played through the mini usb connection or through the mini SD card slot that is incorporated in the glasses itself. Its compatible with a wide variety of devices like the Ipod, Iphone, Zune and a lot more mobile players. Even E-books can be read with it, so no more boring trips with the train, airplane or bus. Only argument is that its weight is 100gr. which means that after a while your neck will get sore from holding your head up, but as long as you can rest it against the seat of your chair or put the chair in the sleeping position you’ll be fine.lenses-yelllowmoquito.jpg

The system that provides your eyes with the idea that the screen is a little farther away is simple, just look at this graphic explanation and don’t worry about not being able to focus the distance that’s simulated in the glasses makes you feel like your about 2 meters from the screen. If you order it before Christmas you get shipment for half price… check this link for more info.

Android platform integrated in HTC phone

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

HTC, one of the big phone producers said to bring a Android phone on the market next year. The alliance of phone producing companies and Google has begun an Open handset alliance to bring an open software mobile platform in the smartphone market to bring a cheap and free way to develop platform for mobile phones. Its called Android, the goal is to make it an open source platform which will enable a lot of enthusiast to program and develop for the smartphone.

android htc phone
HTC enrolled on the project to make sure there is a market for the software and in the hope that more people start to buy smartphones, did I forgot to mention HTC is one of the bigger smartphone producers in the western world?

HTC expects that Android will have a big impact on the smartphone market en will change the landscape hugely.

Details of the phone itself stay a secret and will probably be published in the coming year. This change in operating platform will not mean that HTC is leaving the windows mobile market for what it is. In the contrary it will stay the biggest niche where HTC is focussing, but the hope is that Android will find a place next to it.

somewhere mid 2008 the phone will be released, we’ll be watching! –>

Dual sim phones

Friday, October 26th, 2007

don’t want to carry two phones, one for private use and the other for your work? Not counting the extra PDA….
there is a new solution on the market, a dual sim phone. More and more company’s are producing phones that can combine office and private calls on two simcards in one dual sim phone.

The big company’s aren’t interested as yet because of the deals with the providers. But the smaller producers from for example China are producing dual sim phones that are capable enough to compete with the western main products.
Except for some connection capabilities like blue tooth the dual sim phone is quite capable of synchronizing with your PC.
Maybe in the future the dual sim phone is even integrated in the smart phone niche of the market and you can have your dual sim smart phone/PDA in one, the size will not matter since every year the gadgets get smaller, faster and more compatible with everything you need on your businesses, road trips, holiday’s and whatever.

For the moment i’d check the Asian market and by doing so force the main company’s to get a look in this undiscovered market of the dual sim phones in western society.
